An anti marriage activist from Voteonmarriage.org the organization which is sponsoring the petition drive to have a referendum in 2008 to make marriage legal only between a man and a woman standing next to a same-sex marriage supporter.
The Massachusetts Legislature defeated a proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages and establish civil unions by a vote of 157 to 39.
