DESCRIPTION: April 19, 2007. Boston, MA. Hundreds marched and then lobbied at the Massachusetts State House to demand reform of the state CORI Law that has prevented thousands of people with criminal records from being able to obtain employment and housing. CORI is the shorthand nickname for "criminal offender record information," the body of Massachusetts criminal records information which is kept by the state, made widely available and can often be inaccurate A growing grassroots coalition of organizations is calling on the state to change the law which, they contend, does not protect public safety because it keeps people who have served their time from being able to move on and live productive lives.
